****please note Disclaimer

The German Shorthaired Pointer is an extremely versatile dog. Whether you want an eager, competent hunting dog, or an intelligent, trainable and athletic partner for the various dog sports eg. agility, tracking, obedience, flyball, search and rescue, you will find this breed to be a wonderful choice. But where this dog excels is as an everyday friend and great family dog.

Bred for many generations to work closely with people, this breed does not do well when isolated for long periods of time. He loves nothing better than, after his regular daily exercise, to cuddle with his human buddies or lie beside them companionably.

When choosing a GSP, you should always buy from a reputable breeder who is willing to supply references, and who has taken the precaution of having their breeding stock tested and cleared for a variety of health problems which can arise in this type of breed if good breeding practices are neglected.

Above are links to breeders listed by province in Canada and state in the USA who are members in good standing of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Canada.

****GSPCC strongly encourages all breeders to adopt ethical breeding and business practices.  However, the GSPCC cannot and does not inspect, monitor or regulate the breeding or business practices of breeders located through the referral process. It is the obligation of the breeder and purchaser to make informed decisions whether to complete the purchase of a German Shorthaired Pointer.

GSPCC does not endorse, guarantee, recommend or approve any particular breeder. The GSPCC disclaims any liability or obligation for the health, temperament or any other aspects of German Shorthaired Pointers purchased through breeders identified by use of this site.
